Castle Chillon and Montreux

We went to Castle Chillon, near Montreux, with goong goong and Shane and his family.
Castle Chillon has a history of over 1,000 years old. And it still looks almost new! It is built on a rock, just a few metres from the lake shore.
Inside, there were games set up for kids, like this one where you could knock down the puppets.
The castle had natural air conditioning, with gorgeous views over looking lake geneva.
When we got to the top, there were more great views, and of course, we were very high up!

After a visit to the castle, it was time for an icecream stop.
Then we went back to Montreux for a walk along the lakeside.
And look who mum found along the lakeside! Freddy himself!
Goong goong enjoying the lovely sunshine and views toward the metropolis of Montreux where old and new buildings are side by side.

Ludotheque (toy library)

To enjoy the last long days of summer, the local ludotheque (toy library) celebrated the beginning of autumn with some games and activities outside. Here we are enjoying the challenges and enjoying the last long days of summer!
This game was great, when you hit the target, some lollies fling over at you!
Hmm.. this was a bit tricky, to get to one side without touching the string. There were bells attached to the strings that jingled if you did.

The circus is in town

We took goong goong to see the circus Knie. Circuses are very popular in Europe and are run by generations of the same family. This one is run by the Knie family, started in 1803(!) and is one of the most popular circuses in Switzerland.
This is what it looks like under the 'big top'. The circus ring.
And complete with elephants too!

My Fairy Birthday Party

Yay, another birthday!! I love birthdays. And the birthday fairy came and visited me, complete with a beautiful dress and fairy wings (thanks goong goong), and a birthday sign sprinkled with hearts and flowers on the floor.
I had a few of my fairy friends around and we all waved our fairy ribbons and danced to some fairy music.
Mummy made me a gorgeous butterfly cake because butterflies have wings like fairies. Yum yum, it was delicious too!
The Fairies.
